Working in a Turbulent Market: 15.09.09
This may not be the first economic downtown we are facing, and perhaps not the last, but it is an interesting time to live through and learn from. What better way to see what it takes to survive, even flourish in a Turbulent Market, then to hear it from top executives of global companies. Thanks to our guest speakers from Novo Nordisk, Canon, HSBC and Michael Page we were able to see firsthand the importance Corporate Values play in seeing a company through a crisis. Part of strategy is also the need to focus on excellence of people as well as goods and services provided. To infer from the presentations of the evening, what is collectively referred to as Corporate Values, is a good place to encode and define a company’s long term strategy reflecting its focus on excellence. The ability to walk a fine line between remaining steadfast and enthusiastic, while flexible enough to change in the face of adversity, is another key component to surviving in a Turbulent Market. As professional women, we appreciated the themes highlighted by the presenters and walked away inspired about our prospects. Following the presentation we enjoyed dinner and a chance to network within our constantly growing group. At this heavily attended event we welcomed 15 new guests and feel enthusiastic about our membership growth. We appreciate the diversity and inspiration this growth brings to our group.
