PWG members and guest welcomed the cool air of an old wine cellar located just steps from the Kunsthouse on one very warm August evening. Our guest speaker and wine expert Maria Bühler took us on an exciting voyage through the world of Sparkling Wines. We tasted 11, including some true Champagnes, and learned not only to recognize what our taste buds were telling us, but also the differences in preparation and ‘rules’ of bottling champagne, cremant and prosecco.We enjoyed a relaxed summer evening, great flavors and appetizers that were just right for the wines we tasted. We had yet another chance this summer to make new friendships, strengthen existing ones and learn something new. It was also inspiring to see how much our group has grown and how many women have taken on leadership roles in heading up special interest groups and organizing our monthly events. We look forward to continues membership and leadership growth in the upcoming months.
