Catrin Henkel, Senior Executive and client partner at Accenture shared her secret of success with us on Tuesday, 19th October 2010. How do we become our own CEO? What resources do we need? What steps can we take?
Catrin recommended that as CEO, we each need to take responsibility for our future and define our vision. We need to build a team that will help us to achieve our plan, but we also need a board of directors to challenge and support us. These board directors may well be people with more life and work experience than us, and are probably outside our immediate work environment.
She reminded us that we need to build our networks as early as possible. By setting milestones, we can check the validity of our vision. Catrin challenged us to push ourselves and to find our limits. Her speech sparked many interesting member discussions - in the buffet queue and at our tables!
